Heritage State Park Visitors' Center

The GLEC Multicultural Enrichment Partnership honored twenty-four students from Andover High School, Lawrence High School, Methuen High School and North Andover High School with the Collaborative Visual Arts Award on May 8, 2007 at Lawrence Heritage State Park Visitors' Center.

A group show created from a sampling of their works runs through May 19.

These young artists, juniors and seniors, were selected by their high schools for their "outstanding achievement in the visual arts." Many plan to attend art schools in the future.

Art teachers from the four high schools presented the awards and spoke eloquently of their students' talents, character, and achievements. Works of the artists exhibited in the show are shown below.

The program was organized by Jim McConaughy, Director of the GLEC Multicultural Enrichment Partnership.

Heritage State Park Visitors' Center has been the home of the awards night and the show since 1988. An important building in the history of Lawrence, it is located at the corner of Canal and Jackson Streets. The Visitors' Center is free, handicapped accessible, and open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.  5/14/07
