DEADLINE EXTENDED: Deadline extended to 3 p.m. Monday, May 17.
If you are a current student at Andover High, Lawrence High, Methuen High, or North Andover High, you may submit to us directly. All submissions must have a submission form filled out in full (see below). We especially want writing and music.
Purpose:
- ApplePi is a publication striving to bring together the high schools of the Merrimack Valley by showcasing excellence in student creativity.
- It is the purpose of this magazine to distribute a combination of creativity and emotion that has been consolidated into a form that can be printed on paper.
What we’re looking for:
We are hoping to receive art that is versatile in genre and purpose—poetry, essay, political opinions, music, photography, drawings—anything that shows your thoughts and talent. The rule to be considered is this: if you don’t know whether you should submit it, you should submit it.
Directions to Submit:
Print or download the submission form PDF or .doc (PLEASE DO NOT USE THE OLDER FORMS). You can submit online by following the directions on the submission form or you can submit at school. See who to contact for submitting at school. However you decide to submit, make sure to include a fully filled out submission form either as a hard copy, a PDF or a .doc file. (no .docx files please). Thank you!
Details:
- Hard copy of 24 – 36 pages, PDF made from hard copy
- Black and white with color cover (PDF in full color)
- Page size: 8” x 10.25”
- About 60 – 100 contributors (we are now accepting more per school)
- 2 issues: one appearing in late fall, the other in early spring
- About 1,000 copies printed, with about 200 per school
- Each contributor to receive at least 3 free copies.
